Our Staff

All the staff that work in the home are direct-employees

Being direct-employees means continuity of care and facilitates a "family" atmosphere. The home has a comprehensive training programme and a high proportion of its staff have achieved NVQ qualifications.

All staff undergo a planned induction programme using "Skills for Care".  Our training programme includes specialist modules in dementia and challenging behaviour which gives staff a fuller understanding or our client group and how to cope with the many facets of dementia sufferers' behaviour.

Staff work well as a team and were very pleased to have recently achieved the Investors in People standard.

Bridgid Sedour Home Manager Brigid has 30 years post registration experience and specialises in the care of older people.  Recently she has undertaken courses in Health and Safety for Managers and Directors and End of Life Care Planning.  An experienced nurse who values integrity, she is an able communicator and an advocate for excellence in care and best practice at all times.

Khaled Ghosheh Home Manager - Holly & Ivy Units Khaled is a Registered Nurse and an A1 Assessor.  He obtained a Masters Degree in Public Management with an emphasis on health care systems whilst in the USA. Khaled's experience includes working in nursing homes and hospitals in Israel.

Delia Thompson Administrator Delia has been working at Hailsham House for fourteen years. She deals with all financial matters at the home. She says that the people she works with are not just colleagues but friends as well.

Rebecca Gbededo Nurse in Charge Rebecca has been working at Hailsham House for four years. She is a Registered Nurse and an NVQ2 assessor. Rebecca enjoys the friendly relationships she has with her residents, relatives and work colleagues.

Joyce Porter Senior Care Assistant Joyce has been working at Hailsham House for fourteen years. She has achieved her NVQ3 whilst working at the home and says she really enjoys working here.

Pauline Fletcher Activities Co-Ordinator Pauline has been at Hailsham House for over a year now and has achieved her NVQ2 which included recreational and development in activities. She finds her job very rewarding.

Ray Oarton Chef Ray is the head chef at Hailsham House Nursing Home. He really enjoys cooking for the residents and plans meals using fresh local produce. When working as head chef at a hotel in Toronto Ray won an award for inventing an original dish.
